Interview Top Tips

The assessment process can be tricky, so we’ve put together some top tips to help you prepare. Make sure you watch our video on what we’re looking for too – it contains some handy hints from our current graduates and managers.

1. Explore ENGIE

Make sure you spend some time getting to know ENGIE and how we work as a business as we’ll be looking to understand why you want to work for us and why you’re passionate about your chosen business area. Spend some time getting to know our products and services, reading recent press releases and understanding the company behaviours that will be central to our selection process.

2. Compare your skills and qualifications to the job requirements

At ENGIE, it doesn’t matter who you are; we’re looking for people who share our vision and behaviours. We recommend giving some thought about the role you have applied for and the behaviours that are important to us, and thinking about the knowledge, skills and abilities that you can bring to the role.

3. Prepare responses

Our interviews involve a combination of resume-based, motivational and competency-based questions. We’d encourage you to practise telling your story in the best possible way. However, whilst we advocate preparation, we’re also keen to get to know the real you, so don’t be afraid to show a little personality where you can too.

4. Pay attention to non-verbal communication

Be mindful that non-verbal communication speaks volumes. It’s worth paying attention to your posture, eye contact and to smile as these all help to project a positive image.
