ENGIE becomes the first dedicated FM company to receive BSI Kitemark™ for BIM

ENGIE has become the first dedicated FM company – and one of the first organisations globally – to achieve the new BSI Kitemark™ for PAS 1192-3 “Specification for information management for the operational phase of assets using building information modelling (BIM)”.

The achievement recognises the robustness of ENGIE’s approach to BIM, a discipline which is rapidly enabling the digitalisation of services to customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their building, which will deliver a number of benefits. These include improved asset management to reduce operating and energy costs, increasing asset value and enhancing customer satisfaction.

The Kitemark for PAS 1192-3 has been developed to help companies involved in asset management demonstrate that they have successfully integrated BIM into the processes. As such, it recognises the significant challenges faced by asset managers in managing information pertaining to the maintenance, performance and legal compliance of assets.

To comply with the new Kitemark, companies must demonstrate that any information held about an asset has been defined and managed in accordance with BIM Level 2. It also ensures that the asset owner’s requirements are clearly defined and complied with.
