ENGIE achieves Finalist status in two BITC Award categories in 2019
ENGIE has achieved Finalist status in two award categories for Digital Innovation and Connected Places, in the 2019 Business in the Community (BITC) Responsible Business Awards which were announced on 29 April 2019.
Founded by HRH The Prince of Wales, BITC is a business-led membership organisation dedicated to promoting responsible business. Its purpose is to inspire, engage and challenge members, to combine their collective strength as a force for good in society.
ENGIE’s ranking as Finalist in the Digital Innovation category highlights the company’s commitment to digitalisation to enhance energy efficiency and customer satisfaction. This is backed by a €1.5 billion investment in digital technologies. ENGIE’s Smart Buildings team is using intelligent energy management software to tackle energy wastage and meet carbon reduction targets at Plymouth University.
ENGIE’s ranking as Finalist in the Connected Places category highlights the approach and delivery of social value for Wakefield Council through a long-term partnership over 10 years. ENGIE has worked collaboratively with the Council and many other stakeholders to address priority needs identified in education, skills, social deprivation and health.
The overall winners of the Responsible Business Awards 2019 will be announced at an Awards Gala dinner at the Royal Albert Hall, London on Tuesday 9 July 2019.
