ENGIE awarded Platinum status for sustainability performance
ENGIE has been awarded Platinum level in the 2017 Sustainable FM Index– one of only three organisations across the Facilities Management (FM) sector. The Sustainable FM Index is designed to provide robust and transparent assessment of sustainability performance within the UK FM market.
ENGIE’s improvement on its award-winning 2016 sustainability performance is indicative of its continued focus on driving Corporate Responsibility (CR) forward across all business operations.
Wilfrid Petrie, CEO of ENGIE UK & Ireland commented: “We are delighted to have been recognised once again for our commitment to responsible business. Our performance is testament to our continued improvement and our focus on driving sustainability beyond our own company to helping our customers improve their own performance.”
ENGIE’s CR plan, entitled Our Future, is a strategic framework supporting our commitment to manage and operate places and spaces in an effective way to create a positive, lasting environmental, economic and social legacy. The plan is aligned to our company purpose of improving the lives of the customers we serve and is focused on creating a positive and lasting environmental, social and economic legacy.
The Our Future plan has enabled ENGIE to have a positive impact on society through our range of services. This includes increased employment, aiding patient recovery, creating safe and effective learning and working environments, raising awareness of air quality and promoting green mobility.
ENGIE employees support Our Future through fundraising and volunteering for the ENGIE Chosen Charities, supporting people from disadvantaged groups into employment and more.
