ENGIE is first to issue a challenge on the new KTN-iX platform
ENGIE, the leading energy and services group, is the first corporate organisation to partner with Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) in using the new KTN-innovation eXchange (KTN-iX) online innovation transfer platform.
KTN-iX is designed to match industry challenges to companies, often from other sectors, that may have innovative solutions. As such, it is the ideal platform for ENGIE’s ongoing ‘Call for Solutions’ programme.
The first Call for Solutions published on the KTN-iX platform relates to ENGIE’s redevelopment of the disused Rugeley power station site in Staffordshire to create a new sustainable and smart community. One major challenge is the presence of a 400kV electricity sub-station on the site that cannot be moved or demolished.
ENGIE is therefore using the KTN-iX platform to source products and solutions that will mitigate the visual and noise pollution created by the sub-station – which could also be applied to similar issues on other sites.
Businesses that believe they have an appropriate solution can find out more and submit their responses via the KTN-iX platform, for assessment by ENGIE and KTN. The winner(s) will be supported in the development of their solution by ENGIE, KTN and the wider Innovate UK network, of which KTN is part.
The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) connects people to accelerate innovation. KTN helps businesses get the best out of creativity, ideas and the latest discoveries to strengthen the UK economy and improve people’s lives.
KTN is a network partner of Innovate UK. More details are at www.ktn-uk.org
