Arjowiggins Paper Group, Kent
ENGIE has a long-term relationship with Arjowiggins to provide energy and utilities management for the CHP energy centre at the company’s paper manufacturing facility at Chartham Mill, Kent.
In 2000, ENGIE were awarded the contract to design, build, finance and operate a new CHP system based on a gas turbine and dedicated waste heat boiler, producing superheated steam, along with four dual fuel boilers. The site typically runs with a steam load of 18 tonnes/hour and a site electrical load of 4.5MW. ENGIE has also implemented an energy management programme to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions, supporting Arjowiggins’ strong commitment to energy sustainability.
