Improving lives through the transformation of Places & Communities

At ENGIE, we’re passionate about creating vibrant, harmonious and sustainable communities using integrated energy, services and regeneration, which make a real difference to people’s lives. We're proud of the #ENGIEHarmonyProject work we deliver across the UK. Here's what we've achieved with some of our partners so far:

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

We worked with the LLDC to build upon the Olympic legacy, creating an inspiring place people would want to live, work and visit.

We are delivering integrated energy and facilities services, with an additional supply of low carbon energy.

> Saving over 11,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year

> Connecting the community to the park through over 700 volunteers

Birmingham Council

Birmingham CouncilWe are playing a pivotal role in Birmingham City Council’s climate change strategy by delivering low carbon energy across the city.

This scheme includes three district energy networks, built and operate by ENGIE, under the name of Birmingham District Energy Company (BDEC).

> 18,000+ tonnes of CO2 saved every year

> 60,000 MWh of heat generated per annum

Marsh Farm

We are working with Luton Borough Council to create a healthy, vibrant community with great new places to live, meet, shop and share.

We are building 118 modern, energy efficient homes and seven new retail units to boost the local economy.

> 82% of work delivered by local labour

> Seven trainees, apprentices and graduates on site

Oldham Council

We worked in partnership with Oldham Council and the NHS to create a simple, single point of contact service to tackle fuel poverty.

This involved providing home insulation, advice on energy usage and helping residents assess their income in order to access benefits.

> Helped over 2,000 people escape fuel poverty

> Reduced NHS admissions by 30%

Enfield Council

We’re partnering with Kensa Heat Pumps and Enfield Council to deliver England’s largest Ground Source Heat Pump system.

We are using pipes underground to extract natural heat which will be used to provide hot water and central energy.

> Reducing carbon emissions for over 400 households

> Helping residents save 30-50% on their heating bills every year
