Charlotte Butler
Director of UK Corporate Communications
Charlotte Butler joined ENGIE UK in January 2026 as Director of UK Corporate Communications and a member of the Country Management Team. With significant experience gained across energy and transport sectors, Charlotte specialises in strategic communications and stakeholder engagement.
Prior to ENGIE UK, Charlotte was Communications and Engagement Director for FirstGroup plc’s bus division, where she helped drive a turnaround in financial and sustainability performance, led corporate communications for the launch of a new brand, and managed communications for multiple acquisitions.
Charlotte also brings extensive experience in the energy industry, having spent 13 years at RWE in senior internal and external communications roles. She is highly experienced in crisis management and managed high‑profile communications during pivotal stages of the energy transition.
Charlotte holds a degree in Modern Languages from Durham University and has a particular passion for German language.
