Rugeley Power Station team hosts four more community events

14th March 2019

Community members near Rugeley Power Station have been invited to a series of events in March, ensuring that local people continue to have opportunities for involvement in shaping the regeneration of the power station.

The four events comprise three exhibitions at different locations, as well as a second ‘Renaissance Forum’. The events will be hosted by architects JTP on behalf of ENGIE.

The exhibitions will provide interested parties with an opportunity to hear about the latest proposals for the Rugeley site and will be held at the Rugeley Rose Theatre from 1pm to 5pm on Wednesday 20th March; Brereton and Ravenhill Parish Hall from 12pm to 1.30pm and 4.30pm to 6pm on Friday 22nd March and Armitage & Handsacre Parish Hall from 10am to 1pm on Saturday 23rd March.

The second Renaissance Forum follows on from a very successful forum event in January. It will present the latest proposals for the power station regeneration and provide opportunities for questions and comment. It will be held at the Rugeley Rose Theatre from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday 20th March. The exhibition will also be on display at the Forum.

ENGIE’s Project Director Dale Sager commented:

“We have been delighted by the level of community involvement in our plans for the regeneration and I have no doubt these additional events will provide more valuable feedback from local people. We are looking forward to engaging with visitors to the events as we take our plans forward.”

JTP’s Community Planning Partner Charles Campion added:

“At the heart of our plans for the site is a commitment to creating a space that enriches its surroundings and adds value for all stakeholders. These types of event play a key role in maintaining communications between the project team and the people who will be reaping the benefits of this regeneration in the future.”
